Dry Brushing

It seems like lately you hear a lot of talk about self-care. I truly believe it’s so important that everyone takes time each day to focus on ourselves and our well being. One of my favorite things to do in the morning before a shower is to dry brush. If you do not know what that is please keep reading.

Dry brushing is just that, dry brushing your skin. I like to start at my feet and work my way up, gently brushing in upward strokes and towards the heart. It’s very invigorating so I highly recommend doing this in the morning rather than at night. That of course is my personal experience and could be completely different for everyone else.

Dry brushing has a lot of great benefits. It exfoliates the skin which in return makes your skin look brighter and healthier. After dry brushing take a shower then slather up with your favorite moisturizer. Dry brushing also aids in lymphatic drainage. This is very important to help reduce toxins in our body. It boosts circulation, and helps reduce the look of cellulite.

Depending on how sensitive your skin is I suggest dry brushing a few times a week. If you have super sensitive skin you may want to start out at just once a week then go up from there.

There are several different styles of dry brushes you can get. I did a quick Amazon search and found one I liked. It came with a smaller one to use on the face.

I hope you all are doing well!
